Auditions for Sartre’s adaptation of Euripides’ The Trojan Women (directed by Jennifer Whitaker) will be held on Sunday December 11th from 2-4 and Saturday December 17th from 2-5 at the Monroe County Public Library.
Auditions on the 11th will be in Meeting Room 214. Auditions on the 17th will be in Meeting Room 1C. You must be 21 or older to audition.
No need to prepare a monologue as sides from the script will be provided. For chorus roles, please prepare a short acapella singing piece. Also, if you play an instrument, in particular flute or percussion, please let us know during auditions. We will be composing original music for the chorus and playing it live during the show.
Rehearsals will begin with table reading on January 28th with performances on March 30th and 31st & April 1st and 2nd 2017 at Blockhouse Bloomington.
If you are interested in crew, primarily stage management & set and costume design and construction, please come to one of the auditions to meet with the director Jennifer Whitaker.
Warning: this show is a very dark tragedy, dealing with disturbing themes and imagery including war and sexual assault. Adult language & violence warnings as well. No one under 21 will be cast or admitted to performances
Also, please note that the roles of Cassandra, Menelaus, Poseidon and Talythybios have already been cast.

Athena, Goddess of War and Wisdom – Female, age range late 30’s – early 50’s
Hecuba, Queen of Troy – Female, age range mid 50’s to early 70’s
Andromache, widowed Princess of Troy – Female, age range late 20’s to late 30’s
Helen of Troy – Female, age range early to late 20’s
Odune, leader of the Chorus – Femalel, age range late 30’s to early 60’s
Female Chorus (11 roles) – all age ranges (over 21)
