Devin May is an actor, director, and educator who has worked with theatres in Indiana, Kentucky, Chicago, Boston, and D.C.
For MCCT, Devin directed The Comedy of Errors (2024) and Henry IV, part 1 (2022). He has performed in five Shakespeare in the Park plays, beginning with A Midsummer Night’s Dream (Puck) in 2013.
Around the community, Devin recently performed with Constellation Stage & Screen in The Wizard of Oz (Tinman), The True Story of the Three Little Pigs (Rocky, et al.), and The Importance of Being Earnest (Jack). He directed The Little Mermaid Jr. and The Laramie Project for Stages Bloomington. He also teaches drama classes at Fairview Elementary and frequently leads camps and classes for Constellation.
During the 2019-20 school year, he worked as a teaching artist with the Kentucky Shakespeare Festival, traveling the state to perform Shakespeare in rural communities and engaging learners of all ages and abilities. In 2018, he participated in a new works directing intensive at the Kennedy Center in Washington D.C., where he assistant-directed a workshop production of You Must Wear a Hat by Courtney Meaker.
His favorite role to date was in Super Richard World III (King Mario, Mayor Toad, Lord Diddy Kong), a Shakespeare-Super Mario mashup by Chicago’s Otherworld Theatre that landed on the Chicago Reader’s “Best Plays of 2019” list.
